Every reading in Steady Deen shows its source. This page explains where the texts come from, how they are reviewed, and the terms under which we use them.
How we choose readings
Each reading is either a verse from the Quran or a short reflection written for Steady Deen.
A reading is short enough for a quiet moment and connects to everyday life: attention and intention, gratitude, patience, kindness and relationships. Verses are read in their context, and the app shows that context. The Arabic text, the translation and the short reflection are always labeled separately, and the translation is never shortened.
Steady Deen does not issue religious rulings. For questions about your own practice, please ask a qualified scholar you trust.
How content is reviewed
Every reading is reviewed before it is published.
Each reading is checked for its source and usage rights, its religious accuracy, and its wording in Turkish and in English. Guided programs are reviewed separately as a whole. A reading that changes after review is reviewed again before it ships.
The Arabic text of the Quran
The Arabic text comes from the Tanzil Project and is used without changes.
Tanzil Quran Text (Simple, Version 1.1) · Copyright (C) 2007-2026 Tanzil Project · License: Creative Commons Attribution 3.0. Permission is granted to copy and distribute verbatim copies of this text, but changing it is not allowed. Source: tanzil.net, where you can keep track of changes to the text.
The only addition is the verse number marker at the end of each verse.
English translation
Translation by Talal Itani, ClearQuran.com.
The translation (The Clear Quran, Allah edition) is used under the Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 license, with the additional permissions granted by the copyright holder. Its wording is never changed; for readings with several verses, only the verse numbers are added.
Turkish translation
Türkçe Tercüme: Rowad Translation Center, version 1.0.4, from QuranEnc.com.
The translation is used without changes, with its publisher, source and version, as QuranEnc.com’s republishing terms require. Before each content release we check whether a newer version is available.
Short reflections
The short reflections and daily steps are editorial texts written for Steady Deen by our content team.
They are not source texts and not the only way to understand a reading. They are reviewed in the same way as everything else in the app.
Reporting an error
If something in a reading looks wrong, tap “Report a problem” on the reading or write to support@steadydeen.com.
We review every report. If a correction is needed, it comes in a later app update; content already on your device can’t be changed remotely. If the error is in a translation, our editor also reports it to the translation’s publisher. More on reporting a content error.
Fonts
The app and this website use Newsreader by The Newsreader Project Authors (Production Type), under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Arabic text on this website uses your device’s own Arabic font.
Marbling art
The ebru (paper marbling) illustrations are drawn by a small engine based on the work of Shufang Lu, Aubrey Jaffer, Xiaogang Jin, Hanli Zhao and Xiaoyang Mao, “Mathematical Marbling”, IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications 32(6), 2012. We are grateful for their work.
